In windows administrator can reset the password of users by using the ‘net user’ command .That i have shared already. Here you can check that
Note: For this mainly we need to have is one more parallel operating system. In this mainly i deal with windows 7 and Ubuntu.
Windows one of the popular operating system in the world . Here I will explain you how to reset password of a user account including the administrator. This is kind of hacking also.
In the windows login screen, where no user is logged in, at this state windows is working with full privilages i,e same as that of admin account. But widows never provide any application in login screen ,except some shortcuts will be working on login screen. Next we have to identify which shortcut in windows that is valid also in login screen , like sticky keys, virtual keyboard etc.
Here we will use sticky key shortcut to hack into the system, if we press shift keys 5 times ,a small window will be appearing asking if we want to activate sticky keys, these will be working in the login screen also , i,e if we can replace the sticky key shortcut with command prompt then we will be getting all privilages to the system in the login screen. The window that pops up when we use sticky key shortcut is a file named ‘sethc’ is executed which is found in windows\system32 Directory. Hence if we want to replace the shortcut ,move sethc from system32 and make a copy of command prompt (the file named ‘cmd’ is found in the same folder) rename the copy of cmd as ‘sethc’ and move the new sethc to system 32(do not delete the orginal sethc, since we need after changing password ).
Note: This cannot be done in Windows platform. Because windows will not allow you to do any changes Directly in system32 folder.
So now you are going to do all the steps that we discussed above in this page in another operating system. I tried this one using ubuntu ,
Now reboot your system and choose windows .when the login screen appears press shift key 5 times command prompt appears , with current directory as c:\windows\system32 . Now you can go for resetting the password . That you have seen earlier.
After resetting passwords. Login to ubuntu and delete the copy of cmd (now sethc) and put back the orginal sethc file in the same folder.
